Join us at this very exciting time as Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals have just merged into the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

We have ambitious plans to develop our sites, making even better use of our combined resources to serve our population most effectively.

You will now be one of the first new employees of University Hospitals Dorset and you will be taking up the many opportunities that Dorset has to offer in the way of a rewarding work life balance.

We are located within an area of amazing beauty which includes opportunities to drive, walk,  run, swim or cycle in the New Forest , in the Purbecks, along miles of golden beaches and the Jurassic coastline.   Bournemouth is a vibrant university town with a wide selection of restaurants and cafes; theatres, cinemas and sporting activities and Poole attracts many visitors, has a large natural harbour and is perfect for water sports or relaxing at a quayside restaurant.

Transport links are excellent with Bournemouth International airport, Cross-channel ferry terminals at Poole and direct train access to London.

Please note all staff being recruited are expected to be available to work flexibly across our new Trust sites when service demands require it.

The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have now merged to become University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, and this means significant new developments within our services and particularly within the Emergency team based on the Royal Bournemouth site.

The future of Emergency Care in Dorset is exciting, a major new Emergency site is being developed on the Bournemouth site over the next 4-5 years, which provides the opportunity to develop your skills and experience within both the Poole and Bournemouth Emergency departments, and to develop enhanced emergency skills including trauma.  Attendances at Bournemouth are approximately 90,000 patients per year, and we also provide high quality care to 12,000 Pediatric patients per year.

We are looking for band 5 nurses to join the largest Emergency Department in Dorset, who are looking for the opportunity to work within a fast paced, dynamic environment as part of an experienced, committed team focussed on delivering high quality care.  We value those who bring a positive attitude to their work, and demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude, that aligns with our trust values.

On commencing we offer a supernumerary period and in the first 12 months you will be supported to complete ‘Our Dorset’ county wide Emergency Nursing competencies which are mapped to the Emergency Care Association Framework. This will include Triage, Safeguarding, Minors skills, ILS and PILS.

If you are looking at relocating to Dorset, then details of our generous Trust Relocation Package can be found on the UHD Trust Website.

We are committed to offering flexible working arrangements to fit family and dependent care needs whenever possible, please contact us to find out more.
