Join us at this very exciting time as Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals have just merged into the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

We have ambitious plans to develop our sites, making even better use of our combined resources to serve our population most effectively.

You will now be one of the first new employees of University Hospitals Dorset and you will be taking up the many opportunities that Dorset has to offer in the way of a rewarding work life balance.

We are located within an area of amazing beauty which includes opportunities to drive, walk,  run, swim or cycle in the New Forest , in the Purbecks, along miles of golden beaches and the Jurassic coastline.   Bournemouth is a vibrant university town with a wide selection of restaurants and cafes; theatres, cinemas and sporting activities and Poole attracts many visitors, has a large natural harbour and is perfect for water sports or relaxing at a quayside restaurant.

Transport links are excellent with Bournemouth International airport, Cross-channel ferry terminals at Poole and direct train access to London.

Please note all staff being recruited are expected to be available to work flexibly across our new Trust sites when service demands require it.

Do you take enormous pride in delivering safe, compassionate care, resulting in a high quality patient experience?

Do you have a passion to work within Older Persons Medicine and promote high standards of care delivery?

Do you want to make a difference to Patient care?

If yes, we want you to join our friendly, committed and dynamic team on Ward 4.

Our aim is for the Older Persons Medical Service to be a centre of excellence and current initiatives include working towards our dignity pledge, Compassionate Care projects and developing our newly established frailty pathway. There is on-going investment to ensure our staff have the right skills, values and expertise to provide high quality specialist care for older people.

Ward 4 is a short stay, mixed sex ward that specialises in Older Person’s Medicine, dealing with complex and acute medical conditions. We adopt a rehabilitation approach working closely with our therapy teams which helps to promote and maintain mobility and independence for our patients.

We are looking for enthusiastic, happy professional Staff Nurses who have pride in their work and committed to the teams vision. We expect all members of the team to work together and support one another through good and challenging times, making a difference every day to the patients we look after and the staff we work alongside.

The successful applicant will drive to continually improve patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience through implementation of the Trust’s quality strategy.

What can we offer you?
